Description of the tour

Tour itinerary: Mekele → Hawzen → Aksum → Semera → Aksum

Day 1: Arrival and Erta Ale Volcano
Begin your journey with an early morning flight to Semera. After a brief coffee break, travel to Erta Ale, known as "Smoky Mountain" in the Afar language. This destination is one of Ethiopia's most physically demanding and unique natural attractions, featuring a rare permanent lava lake. Enjoy dinner at 17:00, then prepare for a trek to the rim at 20:00, where you’ll camp overnight to fully experience the volcanic landscape.
Day 2: Erta Ale to Hamed Ela
On this day, witness a breathtaking sunrise at the crater before descending for breakfast. After returning to Dodom, you have the option to visit Lake Afrera (seasonal) before continuing to Hamed Ela for an overnight camping experience.
Day 3: Danakil to Mekelle
Drive to the Ragad salt flats to observe traditional salt mining. Proceed to Dallol, located 116 meters below sea level, to explore its vibrant geological formations, including Lake Assal and camel caravans. End the day in Mekelle, staying overnight at Libanos Hotel.
 Day 4: Tigray Churches - Debretsion
Visit the historic Tigray Churches, starting with Abreha We Atsbeha Church, and then travel to Hawzen. After lunch, hike to Abune Abraham (Debretsion) Monastery Church, which is a moderate 50-minute trek. Return to Hawzen for an overnight stay at Vision Hotel.
Day 5: Gheralta Mountains - Abune Yemata Guh
Enjoy a morning hike (approximately 1.5 hours) to Maryam Korkor Monastery, where stunning views await. After lunch in a nearby village, continue to Abune Yemata Guh, requiring a 40-minute hike. Return to Hawzen for another overnight stay.
Day 6: Hawzen to Axum via yeha
Visit the 7th-century BC Yeha Temple, followed by a trip to Debre Damo Monastery, accessible by rope climb (men only). Enjoy lunch in Adwa town before returning to Axum for the night
Day 7:Exploring axum attractions 
Exploration of Axum on a journey of 4 to 5 hours. Engage in sightseeing at historic sites, including the Northern Stelae Field, Queen Sheba’s Pool, the Ezana Inscriptions, and the tombs of King Kaleb and Gebremeskel, as well as Queen Sheba’s Palace and St. Mary of Zion Church. End of the tour.
