I had the opportunity to visit the Lake Tana monasteries in October 2024, and it was a wonderful experience. I was really looking forward to seeing the Blue Nile Falls, but unfortunately, my tight schedule meant I had to continue my journey to Gondar instead. Tsehaynew recently showed me around Bahir Dar and was a wonderful guide! He was really considerate and adjusted the schedule to do things that I was interested in. He showed me the most interesting Lake Tana monasteries, and then the best fresh fish places on the waterfront with hundreds of pelicans. He was very respectful, which was important to me as a solo female traveller. Highly recommended!!!
