Naturally, Bhaktapur is a stunning location encircled by verdant hills—a trekking enthusiast's paradise—and those hills are home to numerous religious sites.
Itinerary
Changunarayan temple: Changunarayan is the oldest temple in Kathmandu valley dating back 467 AD. The temple stands in a spacious courtyard, with priceless stone sculptures,and writings on copper plates and stone slabs from the 4th to 9th century A.D.
Bhaktapur durbar square: This is the main central square near the entrance and famous for its 55-window palace. The ancient Lions Gate dates back to 1696 and the Lu Dhowka or Golden Gate which is the entrance to the main palace is heralded as one of the most beautiful and intricately carved pieces of artwork in the entire city.
Suryabinayak Temple: On the southern hill of Bhaktapur Nagara, there is one sacred temple named Suryabinayak. The temple is situated in the middle of the jungle. It is also called the elder deity among the four popular Binayak temples of Kathmandu Valley including Ashoka Binayak, Jal Binayak, Rakta Binayak and Suryabinayak itself.
Sidhapokhari: Siddhapokhari is one of the busiest ponds of Bhaktapur.
