

Tour itinerary: Kathmandu
Located in the wilderness of the Langtang region in Nepal, Tilman Pass Trek stands tall with an attitude of 5320m. It was named after the British adventurer and explorer H. W. Tillman (1898-1977) who explored the Himalaya in the mid-20th century. Tilman Pass is one of the toughest mountain passes of Nepal that connects the Tamang valley of Langtang with the sacred lakes of Panchpokhari while featuring continuous views of the Himalayas including the Langtang Himal range and Jugal Himal range.Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,672m) – Approx. 8–10 hours:
Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang Valley. The route winds through lush hillsides, terraced farmland, and traditional villages, offering views of the Trishuli River along the way. Upon arrival, check into a local lodge and rest for the night. Day 02 :Trek to Lama Hotel (2,670m) – 5 to 6 hours:Today’s trek follows the Langtang Khola river upstream through dense rhododendron and oak forests. You’ll pass through suspension bridges and small Tamang settlements like Bamboo and Rimche before reaching Lama Hotel, nestled deep in the forested gorge. Overnight at the lodge in Lama Hotel.
Day 03 :Trek to Langtang Village (3,430m) – 5 to 6 hours:Continue ascending gradually as the forest gives way to open meadows and scattered Tamang villages. As you approach Langtang Village, you’ll begin to see snow-capped peaks like Langtang Lirung (7,227m). This village was rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake and reflects the community's resilience. Day 04 :Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,700m) – 4 to 5 hours:A short but beautiful trek today takes you to Kyanjin Gompa, the spiritual and cultural heart of the valley. On the way, pass mani walls, prayer wheels, and alpine yak pastures. Upon arrival, visit the ancient monastery and the local cheese factory. Overnight at the lodge in Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 05 :Acclimatization and Exploration Day in Kyanjin Gompa:Spend the day exploring the stunning surroundings. Optional hikes include Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) or Tserko Ri (4,984m) for panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, and Dorje Lakpa. This rest day also helps your body acclimate before crossing higher altitudes. Overnight at the lodge in Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 06 :Trek to Langshisha Kharka (4,160m) – 5 to 6 hours:Leaving Kyanjin behind, you’ll head east toward the isolated yak pasture of Langshisha Kharka. This high-altitude valley is surrounded by dramatic cliffs, glaciers, and icefalls—a favorite campsite for mountaineers and trekkers. Overnight at a tented camp in Langshisha Kharka.
Day 07 :Trek to Moraine (Marine) Base Camp (4,580m) – 4 to 5 hours:Today, the trail becomes more rugged and remote as you ascend toward the base of the moraine field. The terrain includes rocky trails and glacial scree, with phenomenal views of snow-draped peaks. Overnight at a tented camp near Moraine Base Camp.
Day 08 :Trek to Tilman Pass Base Camp (4,850m) – 5 to 6 hours:A challenging day with a steady climb toward the base of Tilman Pass. As you gain altitude, the landscape becomes increasingly glacial and barren. You’ll camp below the pass, surrounded by towering Himalayan giants. Overnight at a tented camp at Tilman Base Camp.
Day 09 :Cross Tilman Pass (5,320m) and trek to Dudh Pokhari – 7 to 8 hours:The most strenuous yet rewarding day of the trek. You'll start early to cross the icy and technical Tilman Pass, which requires care and possibly basic mountaineering gear (crampons, ropes). After the descent, you’ll arrive at the sacred Dudh Pokhari, a tranquil glacial lake. Overnight at a tented camp by Dudh Pokhari.
Day 10 :Trek to Tin Pokhari (3,840m) – 5 to 6 hours:Descend through alpine terrain and moraine fields to reach Tin Pokhari, meaning “Three Lakes.” This remote area is known for its serenity and spiritual significance. Overnight at a tented camp at Tin Pokhari.
Day 11 :Trek to Panch Pokhari (4,060m) – 5 to 6 hours:The trail leads you to Panch Pokhari (Five Lakes), one of the holiest pilgrimage sites in Nepal, especially visited during Janai Purnima. Enjoy stunning mountain reflections in the turquoise lakes and visit the small temples nearby. Overnight at a tented camp near Panch Pokhari.
Day 12 :Trek to Nasimpati (3,810m) – 4 hours:Begin a gentle descent toward Nasimpati, a grassy meadow surrounded by pine forests and rocky cliffs. This is a peaceful campsite that marks your reentry into greener landscapes. Overnight at a tented camp in Nasimpati.
Day 13 :Trek to Chyo Kharka – 5 to 6 hours:Continue your descent through rhododendron-covered hills and scattered herding settlements. The trail offers chances to encounter local shepherds and wildlife. Overnight at a tented camp in Chyo Kharka.
Day 14 :Trek to Chautara or Balefi – 5 to 6 hours:Your final trekking day leads you to lower-altitude villages like Chautara or Balefi. The warm, terraced hills and vibrant farmlands offer a stark contrast to the glaciers and barren highlands. Overnight at a tented camp or a local guesthouse.
Day 15 :Drive Back to Kathmandu – Approx. 6 to 7 hours:After breakfast, drive back to the capital. Enjoy the scenic countryside, and reflect on the unforgettable journey you've just completed. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu your own.
Day 16 :Final Departure in Kathmandu:It is time to fly back home, keeping all the wonderful experiences of Nepal in mind. The representative from Everest Alpine Trekking will transfer you to TIA airport, where you should check-in 3 hours prior to your scheduled flight.
