Saribung peak Climbing (6328m) is one of the newly popular expedition locations in mid Western Nepal. Saribung Peak lies North east from Lo-Manthang near the Nepal, Tibet boarder at a precise location of 28°53’04’’N/84°10’26”E. This expedition will provide you with a great opportunity to explore the unique Tibetan plateau of the Himalaya and the villages behind Lo-Mangtang mountain. Saribung peak climbing and Upper Mustang trekking was a newly discovered trekking route in 2006. The government of Nepal opened the area which is still considered a restricted area on special terms that visitors can only stay for a short duration of time. It is a challenging and very popular trekking trail now with beaten tracks and demanding passes. Saribung is situated in an isolated part of the Mustang region known as Damodar Himal.

The trail takes you to high alpine passes and to glaciers in the Damodar Kunda region and Nar-Phu Valley. At the summit of Saribung Peak you will be blessed with absolutely amazing views of Himlung Himal (7126m), Nilgiri Himal (7061 m), Lamjung Himal (6983m),Himlung Himal (7126m), Mt. Manaslu (8156 m), and Annapurna II (7937m).

Saribung Peak climbing begins at Jomsom, the headquarters of the Mustang District and then on to Kagbeni, Chele, Geling, Tsarang, Lo Manthang, Dhi Gaon, Luri Gomba, Ghuma Tanti, Namta Khola and then to Saribung Base Camp where you will acclimatize before your climb to the peak.

You will need a reasonable level of fitness and endurance for this expedition, but by the time you reach higher altitudes you should be ready for the summit.
