Chekigo Peak (6257m) was got the authorization for expedition just on 2002. This recently opened mountaineering peak remained unheard to many adventure lovers till it was officially opened by Government of Nepal. Even today, hardly any climbers prefer the peak climbing. The stunning summit is situated in the Gaurishankar peak region in a wild locale of Khumbu Valley, near to Mt. Everest. There are a lot of diverse possible routes to reach at top the peak. And the peak is set in the wilderness of the Rolwaling Valley and combines with going across the Tashi Labsta and bestows an exceptional Himalayan climbing experience. This area is at an easy entrance from Kathmandu which is connected by road. On the way, you will observe the superb view of Annapurna, Manaslu, Lamjung, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Shishapangma, Dorjee Lakpa, Jugal Himal, Gauri Shanker and several other beautiful peaks. Other fascinations of the Chekigo Peak climbing are Rhododendron forest, assorted species of birds, Kalinchowk temple and Biju Gompa and so on.
Itinerary,
Day1; Drive from Kathmandu to Chechet and trek to Simi Gaon(1,900m) – 12 hours.
Day 2; Simi Gaon to Beding(3,650m)– 7 hours.
Day 3; Beding - Chekigo Base Camp (5400m.) preparation of climbing peak.
Day 4; Climb to High Camp (5710m) 2-3 hours, Overnight Camp (B/L/D).
Day 5; Summit Mt.Chekigo (6121m) and return to Base Camp 8-14 hours, (B/L/D).
Day 6; Reserve day for incase of bad weather.
Day 7; Trek to Beding
Day 8; Trek to Simigaun
Day 9; Trek to Chechet and Drive to Kathmandu– 12 hours.
