14 Days of Madagascar: Tsingy, Baobabs, Andasibe & Nosy Be

ITINERARY 
DAY 1 : ARRIVAL IN ANTANANARIVO

Welcome to Madagascar!

Upon arrival at Ivato International Airport, meet your Friendly Tour Guide representative, easily recognized by a sign with your name and our company logo. Your driver-guide will assist you with your arrival and luggage before transferring you comfortably to your hotel in Antananarivo.

DAY 2 : ANTANANARIVO TO MIANDRIVAZO 

Distance: 370 km | Driving time: approximately 10 hours

After breakfast, begin your journey south-west toward Miandrivazo, traveling through Madagascar's changing landscapes and rural countryside. The long drive offers an authentic glimpse into the island's scenery and everyday life.

Arrive in Miandrivazo in the late afternoon and enjoy a relaxing evening at the hotel.

DAY 3 : MIANDRIVAZO TO KIRINDY FOREST

Distance: 330 km | Driving time: approximately 8 hours**

Start the morning with a short walking tour of Miandrivazo, then continue toward Kirindy Forest via National Road N°35. Enjoy the changing scenery as you travel deeper into western Madagascar.

In the evening, set out at around 6:00 PM for a guided night walk in Kirindy Forest. With the help of local guides, look for nocturnal wildlife such as mouse lemurs, reptiles and, with luck, the elusive fossa, Madagascar's largest carnivore.

DAY 4 : KIRINDY FOREST TO BEKOPAKA

Morning wildlife experience & Manambolo River crossing

Start early with a guided visit to Kirindy Forest, one of western Madagascar's most remarkable wildlife areas. Explore the forest trails in search of lemurs and other endemic species, including the fossa.

After the visit, continue along the off-road route toward Belo, where you will stop for lunch. The journey then continues to Bekopaka, including a scenic ferry crossing of the Manambolo River.

Arrive in Bekopaka in the late afternoon and settle into your hotel.

DAY 5: DISCOVER THE TSINGY OF BEMARAHA

Full-day exploration of Madagascar's iconic limestone landscape

After breakfast, drive for approximately one hour to the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

With an experienced local guide, embark on an adventurous hike through the spectacular limestone formations of the Big Tsingy. Cross narrow passages, explore canyon landscapes and discover the unique wildlife of this extraordinary environment. The hike takes approximately 4 hours, including a picnic lunch break in a cave.

In the afternoon, continue with a 1–1.5-hour visit to the Small Tsingy before returning to your hotel for a well-deserved rest and time to relax by the pool.

DAY 6 : BAOBAB AVENUE

Distance: approximately 200 km | Driving time: approximately 7 hours**

After breakfast, leave Bekopaka and retrace the off-road route toward Belo, with a stop for lunch.

Continue your journey by ferry across the Tsiribihina River before heading toward Morondava. Along the way, discover some of Madagascar's most iconic baobabs, including the Sacred Baobab, the Baobab in Love, and the legendary Avenue of the Baobabs.

Arrive at the Avenue of the Baobabs in time to experience its unforgettable sunset atmosphere, before continuing to your hotel in Morondava.

DAY 7 : MORONDAVA - ANTANANARIVO - ANDASIBE

Flight connection & evening wildlife experience

After breakfast, transfer to Morondava Airport for your flight to Antananarivo.

Upon arrival at Ivato Airport, meet your guide and continue by road toward Andasibe, approximately a 4-hour drive along National Road N°2.

In the evening, head to VOIMMA Community Park for a guided night walk. Search for nocturnal wildlife, including some of Madagascar's smallest lemurs, as well as fascinating insects and reptiles.

DAY 8 : ANDASIBE NATIONAL PARK 

Lemurs, orchids and rainforest wildlife

Today is dedicated to discovering the rich biodiversity of the Andasibe region.

Explore the Analamazaotra Reserve on a guided hike of approximately 4 hours. Walk through lush rainforest in search of lemurs, including the famous Indri, while discovering the area's remarkable collection of orchids and other endemic plants.

After lunch, continue to Vakona Private Reserve for another wildlife experience before returning to your lodge. Enjoy some time to relax and prepare for the evening.

DAY 9 : ANDASIBE TO ANTANANARIVO & CITY TOUR

Distance: 147 km | Driving time: approximately 4 hours**

After breakfast, leave Andasibe and return toward Antananarivo.

Along the way, stop at Mandraka Park to discover some of Madagascar's fascinating endemic reptiles and wildlife, including chameleons, frogs, snakes, bats and lemurs.

Continue to Antananarivo and, in the afternoon, explore the capital with a visit to the Queen's Palace followed by a walk through the city center. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

DAY 10: ANTANANARIVO TO NOSY BE

Flight to paradise

After breakfast, transfer to Ivato Airport for your flight to Nosy Be.

Depending on the flight schedule, enjoy a visit to Ambohimanga, the historic Royal Hill, before your departure.

Upon arrival in Nosy Be, your hotel representative will welcome you and transfer you to your beachfront accommodation. The rest of the day is free to relax, enjoy the beach or simply unwind at the hotel.

DAY 10 : BOAT EXCURSION TO NOSY IRANJA

A day in a tropical paradise

Depart by boat at approximately 8:30 AM for Nosy Iranja, a beautiful island destination reached after about 1 hour and 15 minutes on the water.

Discover the traditional fishing village and the two islands connected by a spectacular 2-kilometre white-sandbank. Enjoy time for swimming, sunbathing and leisurely walks beside the turquoise waters.

A seafood lunch will be served beneath the coconut trees before returning to Nosy Be in the afternoon.

The remainder of the day is free to relax at your hotel.

DAY 12: NOSY KOMBA & NOSY TANIKELY

Lemurs, beaches and spectacular snorkeling

Set out by boat to explore two of Nosy Be's most beautiful neighboring islands.

On Nosy Komba, discover the island's lush tropical landscape, traditional atmosphere and protected lemurs. Enjoy time to explore the island and its beautiful beaches.

Continue to Nosy Tanikely, a marine reserve renowned for its crystal-clear waters and excellent snorkeling. Discover colorful marine life, with opportunities to spot sea turtles, starfish and clownfish.

Return to Nosy Be after your island adventure and enjoy a relaxing evening.

DAY 13 : NOSY SAKATIA & MONT PASSOT

Island culture, nature and sunset views

Discover the peaceful island of Nosy Sakatia, known for its tropical vegetation, orchids, fruit and spice plantations, as well as its rich marine life and green sea turtles.

Continue to Hell-Ville, the main town of Nosy Be, where you can experience local life, browse for souvenirs and discover cultural sites, including sacred trees.

End the day at Mont Passot, the highest point of Nosy Be, where you can enjoy panoramic views and a memorable sunset over the island.

DAY 14: NOSY BE TO ANTANANARIVO AND DEPARTURE
