Tour itinerary: Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, founded by king Menelik II in 1886, boasts several interesting museums. Most popular for tourists as well as local people is National museum, where we can see remains of so-called Lucy, a fossil 3.18 million years old Australopithecus Afarensis, displayed as a part of anthropological exibition. Ethnographic Museum is considered one of the best in Africa. This museum is is located in the building of former palace of king Haile Selassie. There are many orthodox churches in Addis Ababa, not too old, but very attractive. One of them is St. George Cathedral, built in 1898, is devoted to famous victory of King Menelik over Italian colonial army at the ballte of Adwa (1896). Another attraction is Holy Trinity Cathedral, where one can see graves of King Haile Selassie and his wife Queen Mennen.Also included in day tour is excursion to Entoto Mountain and visit Entoto Park. At the end of the program lunch and souvenir shopping.
